About the Performers

John Hearn

John has been studying and performing magic for over 30 years. He has an interest in comedy and children’s magic in particular. He was the winner of the Max Raskin Cup for best children’s act at the Scottish Association of Magical Societies convention in 2011. John designs and makes many of the props used by the Grumpy Magicians and along with Paul creates the unique routines that they use in their many different shows. 

Paul Temple

Paul has been studying and performing magic since 1968. During that time he has been an avid reader and restorer of magic books. He has a particular interest in close up, stage and exploring the historical aspects of magic. He is an active member Edinburgh Magic Circle as well as the Scottish Conjurers Association. Paul also has an interest in Victorian Séances and ghost stories and performs séance reconstructions as Professor Novak.
